Happy Mothers Day
If I told you how much I took my mother through growing up, it would shock you. Time after time, I wondered why didn't she just give up on me, because surely I gave up myself. I embarrassed her by my actions, her friends would talk maliciously about her son, and I can't count how many times I made her cry.I remember being in the streets, and beating this guy down; and, instead of him trying to get revenge on me, he tried to kill my mother. I remember her being barely able to walk after a major surgery. Even while barely being able to walk , she still came up to the high school to try to get me back in only to be met by my English teacher telling her, "Your son is an animal. He is a beast on 2 legs. He should be locked up in a cage!" Her tears came down like a waterfall! ( I can't stop crying as I type this😭)
\nI can still see her crying barely being able to walk as she walked to the principal's office to plead with him to let me back in. He declined! Then he told her, " Your son doesn't deserve to be in any school, and in fact, when he turns 18 he will be locked up somewhere!" She was broken.
\nShe never left me! When people abandoned me, she hung in there with me. Even in my 40s, after I lost LITERALLY everything ( house, business, etc), she let me move in with her until I got back on my feet. She never left my side. Again, if I told you the things I took her through, you wouldn't believe me.
\nI asked her what could I do to repay her. She said, " I never got a chance to see you walk across the graduation stage!" Because I never graduated from high school. After she told me, I went to the prestigious University of Baltimore and got a Bachelor's (cum laude) and Master's Degree (3.85). I gave her a double portion of seeing me walk across the graduation stage twice.
\nGOD knew that I would need a strong woman behind me, so he gave me my Mom. She is the epitome of making sacrifices for your child. She is a beautiful Woman of GOD! Again, if I told you the things I took her through, you wouldn't believe me.
\nTo my mother, I LOVE YOU and I'm sorry. Thank you for never giving up on me. I LOVE YOU!
\nSigned a Thankful Son!
