Many years ago, my cousin built a website for me. It was done as a gesture, because he believed in me and wanted to see me prosper. At the time, I had a lot going on, and my mind got away from it. So, for years, I was paying hundreds of dollars to maintain it. I had to pay the hosting site; and, in my ignorance, every time I called they persuaded me into adding another feature. The money began to add up quick!
It began to weigh on me, because for years, I was paying to maintain something that wasn't a benefit; but, I felt obligated to maintain. There were so many reasons I felt obligated to maintain the website, yet none of them could equal the amount of time, money, and mental space that was being withdrawn. It wasn't that I didn't want it to work, because I did want it work. The fact of them matter is....IT WASN'T WORKING.
Sometimes, in life, we want to hold on to people, places, and things that we can't maintain in the present moment or if ever. In this particular case. it wasn't the right time. I held on to it for 10 years, and one day it crashed. I had debated on letting it go for years, but I didn't have the guts to; so, it had to let me go. You can't be mad if IT (whatever your it is) let's you go! You have to know when to Fold and keep it moving.
"Know when to fold", is a saying used when playing poker. It means to know when your cards are good enough to play or not good enough to play. You have to be willing to drop out of the hand and fold. I'm hear to tell you that it's okay to drop your hand, because there is a better hand waiting. I'm here to tell you, "Don't let your ego be the reason you stay in something that's taking Withdraws and not adding any Positive Deposit!"
You can always get another hand. Positive outcomes come in time and you can't force them. Unfortunately, when the website was built, it wasn't my time. Now, I have another website. The old one crashed. Don't be mad if it doesn't workout, because something better is going to come along and workout in your favor. Let whatever fold, so something better can come. You Got This!
